Honest Writing About Tough Personal Stuff: A Workshop
A Wordstock workshop taught with Penelope Scambly Schott
Saturday, November 11, 2017 // 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Northwest Film Center // Classroom B 934 SW Salmon Street Portland, Oregon
What if writing about difficult experiences such as divorce and mother-daughter conflict could be more artful than self-pitying? What if poetry could actually be a transformational path through trauma toward wisdom and healing? In this workshop, Penelope and Sage will discuss approaches to writing about personal challenges, read from their own work, and offer prompts and exercises that invite you to craft your own honest writing about tough personal stuff.
