Fierce on the Page Reading Series
October 2016: Mantu Joshi, Tami Kent, Gerri Ravyn Stanfield
Wednesday, October 26, 2016 // 7:00 p.m. Another Read Through 3932 N Mississippi Ave Portland, Oregon
A celebration of the fierce writing community of Portland, Oregon.
Every month, the Fierce on the Page Reading Series hosted by Sage features three fierce Portland writers who will read from their own work and have a brief conversation about ferocity in the writing life.
-
Mantu Joshi’s ferocity for writing was born out of extreme scarcity. With only two hours a week to write because of the exhaustion and extreme caregiving of two children with neurobehavioral special needs, he produced a raw-edged and love-powered approach to practical mindfulness for anyone struggling to keep their sanity in difficult relationships/circumstances. His book The Resilient Parent: Everyday Wisdom for Life with Your Exceptional Child shares this approach and has changed thousands of people’s lives.
-
Tami Kent is a women’s health physical therapist, founder of Holistic Pelvic Care™ for women, and author of Wild Feminine: Finding Power, Spirit & Joy in the Female Body, Wild Creative, and Mothering from Your Center. She provides a bridge between the realms of modern medicine and traditional women’s wisdom so we can apply this ancient energy to our modern lives. Her goal is to teach every woman how to read the physical and energetic patterns of the pelvic bowl and restore access to the full range of creative resources—this beauty and wildness within.

Gerri Ravyn Stanfield is the author of Revolution of the Spirit: Awaken the Healer, a guide to liberate the healing super powers within each of us. She practices acupuncture in Portland, Oregon and works with Acupuncturists Without Borders to build world healing exchange programs. Ravyn designs trainings for emerging leaders and healers in the US, Canada, Europe, Asia and Australia. She teaches at various conferences and festivals, including EDGE, Symbiosis, Pantheacon, Spiritweavers, Bioneers, Lightning in a Bottle and various spiritual and artist retreats all over the world.
